Tips:
- When traveling, be sure to plan ahead – search healthy dining options, pack healthy food, snacks, and drinks.
- When attending events (weddings, funerals, family/friend gatherings, parties, etc.) plan ahead – find out what food will be served. Eat before you attend and/or obtain permission to bring food that is more in line with your lifestyle.
- If you have a busy lifestyle, try meal prepping so that you are not cooking daily.
- If you have children in the home that you are trying to introduce healthier food/snack options to, invite them to help prepare the meals/snacks.
Mental Health Tips:
Eating healthy is not the only thing we should focus on for optimal health and wellness.
Relieving stress and maintaining mental balance are important and necessary.
- Take time for time.
- Take a relaxing bath.
- Get out in nature.
- Try breathing exercises (inhale for 4 seconds, hold breath for 4 seconds, release breath in 4 seconds – repeat several times a day)
- Meditate/do yoga/exercise.

Try journaling or coloring or create a vision board.
Q: No time for a long relaxing bath?
A: No problem, try carving out time once a week or on “Wellness Wednesday” to be more intentional about making time for self

- Take a beach trip and soak up the sun (great for additional Vitamin D).
- Take a hike (mountains, waterfalls, trails).
- Take a bike ride.
- Take a walk and get some fresh air.
- Plant a garden.
